After leaving corporate life, Barton is engaged in business consulting, leadership coaching, and is the co-founder of a wellness startup.
Barton was responsible for strategic planning, resource allocation, and new growth initiatives for Bayer’s $3 billion portfolio of brands including Claritin, Aleve, One A Day, MiraLAX, and Alka Seltzer. Barton has a track record of building partnerships with startups leveraging Bayer’s infrastructure to rapidly build scale. Most recently, he developed a new portfolio strategy resulting in three important divestments. He also led a new accelerator called G4A Generator that connected Bayer with over 400 startups resulting in five new partnerships.
Until its sale in September 2018, Barton also led Bayer's Rx Dermatology business with $100 million in sales supported by over 100 professional representatives.
Prior to this, Barton was Vice President, Marketing and New Business for Bayer where he consistently delivered market leading growth. He joined Bayer as Vice President for Global Analgesics and Cough/Cold where he led the development of the first new efficacy improvement of Aspirin in over 100 years.
Barton began his professional career in brand management at Procter & Gamble in the United Kingdom. He then moved to Johnson & Johnson where he was Marketing Director for the UK Consumer business, and Franchise Director Adult Toiletries for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Barton then joined Boots Healthcare International where he led the global marketing function, and had responsibility for operating companies in UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada.
Mr. Warner is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. He attended the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva Switzerland. He holds an MBA and has completed the Intensive External Coaching program from Columbia. Mr. Warner serves on the Advisory Board for the University of Wisconsin School of Business Center for Brand and Product Management. He is past Chair of the American Heart Association Morris County Heart Walk, and past President of the Red Oaks School Board of Trustees. He resides in New York City.
