Russ Meyer has been a brand, marketing and strategy consultant for over 25 years, most recently with his own firm, Russ Meyer Brands, where he focused on helping start-ups, and founder-led organizations define their Purpose then make it manifest through brand, experience and communications. Prior to starting his own firm, Russ was the global head of Strategy, Insights and Simplification at Siegel+Gale as well the global Chief Strategy Officer for Landor Associates. In these roles he worked with clients to drive growth and transform leading organizations such as CVS Health, FedEx, Uber, Procter & Gamble, Intel, Dreamworks and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Russ has worked extensively in financial services, both on the B2B and B2C sides working with commercial and investment banking, private equity, and ETF clients such as American Express, Barclays Bank, Barclays Global Investors, Barclays Wealth, BlackRock, Charles Schwab, H&R Block, IndyMac Bank, iShares, KeyBank, Platinum Equities, and Thrivent Financial Services. Russ began his marketing career on the client side in healthcare, consumer products and international logistics.
As an expert on brands and innovation, Russ has blogged for Fast Company and appeared on CBS’s MarketWatch and CNBC’s Squawk Box. Russ is a frequent speaker and thought leader on brands, business and sustainability, and has been a guest lecturer at the University of California Haas School of Business and San Francisco State University.
Russ earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota and holds an MFA in Design from Northwestern University. He also graduated with honors from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management with a master’s degree in management.
