Public Sector 

New York City

Having worked in senior management roles for over 25 years, David brings clients a consulting mindset and breadth of understanding of marketing and business problems and solutions.

 

David’s experience spans the public and private sectors, where he’s built and led fully integrated marketing teams bringing fresh insights and innovative approaches driving evidence-based results.

 

In the public sector, working with NYC DOT, he led strategic research, messaging architecting a fully integrated marketing program on behalf of the Vision Zero initiative. The initiative exceeded all metrics in the first six years, with traffic fatalities falling to record levels. Additionally, David partnered with other City agencies on strategic projects for the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission, the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, the Mayor’s Office of Immigration Affairs, and NYC Parks & Recreation. 

 

Other government experience includes nine years at NYS Empire State Development, where he directed all State marketing programs, including “I Love New York,” business marketing, public/private strategic partnerships, and other initiatives.

 

Also, David was Chief Marketing Officer at the NYC Economic Development Corporation, where he led branding and strategic positioning in support of New York City’s business value proposition.

 

In the private sector, David served as Vice President of Global Marketing at Marconi plc in London, where he led the rebranding and repositioning of the company, GEC Ltd., to a global telecommunications company, Marconi plc. 

 

Before Marconi plc, DDB recruited David to lead the global Digital Equipment (DEC) advertising account and, subsequently, Compaq.

 

His career began at McCann, where he held a variety of media planning and account management positions.

David holds a BS degree in political science from Northeastern University and an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
